Overall User Friendliness

The ComETS application is a Microsoft Visual C++ based system that runs as a multi-threaded process under Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Windows 7. Most users have familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems which makes using and maintaining the system easy. A programming knowledge of the C++ language is not required by the user to maintain the test system.

ComETS is a full Microsoft Windows application. It has the following features:

• Toolbars (dockable)

• Dialog bars (dockable)

• Dropdown menus (standard File, Edit, Window)

• Min/Max sizable Windows

• Property editors for configuration information

• Window states saved and restored automatically

 User Configurable control based Data Displays:

• Digital, Gages, Meters, Lights, Switches, and Trends

• In-place editing (size, location, colors, units, precision)

• Tool tip information

• Unlimited number of data display pages

• Sizable controls (stretching and dragging)

• User settable grid size

• Display Background color

• Right, left, and double click mouse or touchscreen support

Dialog bars and boxes for status information, operator prompting, operator input:

• Dockable, sizable, and hide or show via “View” menu

• Product Test Options Bar

• Test Menu Functions Bar

  • Selectable by mouse click

  • Selectable by Function Key

User input via-keyboard / mouse, touchscreen or bar code scanner.
